One of the two suspects in the robbery of an apartment in Pasay City has surrendered to authorities, while his alleged accomplice—accused of raping two victims—remains at large.
According to a report by Nico Waje on Saksi Monday, the suspect turned himself in after his wife convinced him to cooperate with police.
The incident took place on August 29, when two men robbed an apartment housing 13 massage therapists in Pasay. Police said the suspect now in custody was seen on CCTV riding as a passenger on a motorcycle and was the second man to enter the compound.
Investigators believe the duo had also been linked to other crimes in Pasay. The surrendered suspect was eventually traced to Legazpi City, Albay, before yielding to authorities.
"Victims were able to identify him since his face was uncovered when he entered the apartment. However, he denied the accusations, claiming his name was dragged into the case because of his prior involvement in another issue with his co-accused. He also insisted he was at home during the robbery and traveled to Albay only to participate in a billiard tournament.”
JMeanwhile, police are still hunting the other suspect. Investigators said he had a past relationship with one of the therapists, who was not present during the crime. Authorities believe the suspects gained entry into the compound by tailing a resident inside.
